A.I.L. SALERNO Sez. "Marco Tulimieri"

The AIL (Italian Association against Leukemia-Lymphoma-Myeloma) Salerno ODV "Marco Tulimieri", established on 28 May 1998 as one of the 83 autonomous provincial sections of the National AIL, collects and manages funds to strengthen the hematology centers of the A.O.U. "San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi D'Aragona" of Salerno and the P.O. "Tortora" by Pagani, in order to guarantee patients the physical proximity of a specialized hematological centre.

AIL Salerno promotes and develops scientific research for the prevention and treatment of leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and aims to improve services and social-health assistance for patients and their families.

With its values of solidarity and hospitality, it aims to support patients and family members in the long journey of the disease, in order to improve their quality of life.
It supports the hematological operating units by donating equipment and furnishings, financing the scholarships of hematologists, nurses, biologists and psychologists, who, together with the volunteers, carry out numerous projects such as: strengthening of hematological diagnostic and data management services, psychological support and reception, AIL playroom, Serene Stay, the ViavAIL Solidarity Taxi, Velatherapy, Fitwalking and many projects to promote Wellness.

In 2024, AIL Salerno, in partnership with the AOU San Giovanni di Dio and Ruggi d'Aragona of Salerno, activated the "Hospital at Home" project, providing Continuity of Care in the Salerno area for patients with hematological problems, immunosuppressed patients, those who are not self-sufficient, and/or those with family issues, who require specialized home care to continue their treatment program.
