Airalzh Onlus
Airalzh - Italian Alzheimer's Research Association - is the only association that promotes and supports medical and scientific research on Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia nationwide through a network of more than 40 young researchers working in centers of excellence distributed throughout Italy.
In our country alone, the number of people suffering from dementia is more than 1,400,000, more than 600,000 of whom are affected by Alzheimer's: although the possibility of having drugs that can modify the course of the disease is glimpsed, the path of research is still long.
The main goal of Airalzh Onlus is to raise awareness of the disease and preventive lifestyles, raise the standards of care available, and contribute to the discovery of new therapies. Through the AGYR call, Airalzh has been funding projects aimed at basic and clinical research on prevention and early stages of Alzheimer's disease since 2020, joined since 2024 by the Starting Grants call and the call on Art-therapy, with an investment to date of more than 2 Million euros.
