FIRA ETS
The proceeds from the auction will help fund the 1st “Carla Fracci” Research Grant, a tribute to the great étoile who served as a spokesperson for the Foundation for over 12 years. The grant is dedicated to innovative research projects aimed at treating rheumatologic diseases that primarily affect women, such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and connective tissue diseases, with the goal of improving the quality of life for millions of patients.
FIRA promotes translational laboratory research projects at the new FIRA Research Centre and funds scholarships, research awards and research contracts, training courses and university master's degrees.
Since 2023, FIRA's support for research has taken a leap forward with the opening of the FIRA Research Centre completely dedicated to scientific research in the field of rheumatology at the Fondazione Pisana per la Scienza (Pisa).
This is a national research support centre where state-of-the-art equipment available to Italian researchers enables the most advanced research, for example in genomics and DNA studies.
For 12 years, the Foundation has enjoyed the support of the great étoile Carla Fracci, an attentive and generous testimonial who has been close to the Foundation in many initiatives.
From June 2023, the new testimonials are Nicoletta Manni and Timofej Andrijashenko, étoile and prima ballet dancer of the Teatro alla Scala.
