St James’s Conservation Trust

Art of St James’s

To mark the 25th anniversary of the St James’s Conservation Trust, the Trust has commissioned a collection of ten original paintings by emerging UK artist Olivia Nicholls Bates. The series captures the history, atmosphere, and culture of St James’s, London, reimagined through Olivia’s distinctive narrative style. From royal tradition and wartime resilience to nightlife and literary icons, each piece reveals a story from this historic district. Highlights include a reimagined view of Fortnum & Mason’s rooftop beehives, a ceremonial scene outside St James’s Palace, and a tribute to a music legend at The Scotch Club. Each work has been professionally framed by master framers Menor Ltd, with moulding generously donated by Larson-Juhl.

The Cause — Supporting the St James’s Conservation Trust

Proceeds support the St James’s Conservation Trust, a charity founded in 1999 to preserve the heritage of St James’s. For 25 years, the Trust has safeguarded its historic buildings, gardens, and streets — helping the area thrive for future generations. From heritage-led development to raising public awareness, the Trust plays a vital role in keeping the district’s spirit alive. By bidding, you’re not just acquiring art — you’re helping protect living history.
