Musica Solidale: l’asta di ActionAid e TV Sorrisi e Canzoni per il diritto alla scuola

Thanks to the partnership between ActionAid and TV Sorrisi e Canzoni, Sanremo becomes a symbol of solidarity. The competing artists will have the opportunity to sign a light installation that will later be auctioned off, and they can also donate personal items to support the right to education.

The proceeds will go towards supporting ActionAid’s efforts to ensure the right to education for children all over the world—regardless of where they are born or where they grow up. Over the past six years, thanks to our supporters, we have built six schools in Mozambique, Rwanda, Ghana, Gambia, Malawi, and Tanzania, reaching over 4,000 students—and we’re not stopping there.

Specifically, the first project to be funded by the auction proceeds will be the construction of a kitchen at the Njinjo Secondary School in Tanzania. This will ensure that over 400 students can receive one hot and nutritious meal per day, something that is not always guaranteed due to their families’ financial situations.

For a child, going to school means not only learning to read and write and laying the foundations for their future—it also means gaining access to other fundamental rights that are too often denied, such as safe drinking water, adequate sanitation, and regular medical checkups. For girls, it can also mean escaping the risk of early marriage.

ActionAid is an independent international organization that protects fundamental rights and operates in over 71 countries. In Italy, it has been active since 1989, with the support of more than 135,000 donors, including over 120,000 regular supporters.
